Something About a Bad Taste in Your Mouth

This is an actual product being sold across North America. I first read about it in The International Herald Tribune and had to see it for myself. This new toothbrush, which plays a 2 minute song while you brush, features such artists as The Beach Boys, Aly and AJ, The Black Eyed Peas, Destiny's Child, Hilary Duff, Jamiroquai, Jessy McCartney, Kiss, Kelly Clarkson, Queen, Smash Mouth, The Village People, and the theme song from Rocky. Notice the irony of brushing to such bands as Kiss and Smash Mouth. Each brush plays only one song and lasts for up to 6 months. Think about that. Lets say you brush the recommended 3 times a day for a 6 month period. Given the average month as 30 days, that's 540 plays for one song. Imagine listening to "YMCA" 3 times a day for 6 months! I think this will actually hurt the artists involved, for users will be so sick of the song they will never want to listen to it ever again. Besides the point, the brush isn't being sold by a toothbrush company, but rather a toy company (Hasbro). Weren't we always told as kids NOT to put toys in our mouths? I really hope Apple has enough sense to not even consider an i-brush.

That's really odd. Although, at least an i-brush (very funny idea, by the way) it would probably play more than one song.

After I mentioned the "i-brush" I got to thinking. I've always loved shower radios, and a shower i-pod would be a great idea! It would obviously have to be waterproof and have an external speaker, but I would be the first in line to pick one up.
