Something About Joe Comuzzi

Joe Comuzzi, a 73 year old MP for Thunder Bay, has been dropped by the Liberals for his plan to support the recent Conservative budget. Comuzzi is a key person behind a cancer research center being built in Thunder Bay, and the Conservative budget earmarked money to help with it's development. The center will bring an estimated 300 new jobs to Thunder Bay. Comuzzi plans to do what every MP should be expected to do: represent his constituents. He knows the research center is good for Thunder Bay and to vote against a budget that would provide needed money for the project would be just plain silly. But Liberal MP's are expected to vote along party lines, and Stephane Dion was not pleased to hear Comuzzi's planed vote. Instead of being admired for putting his constituents first, Comuzzi has been dropped by the Liberals and will sit as an independent. What use is a MP if he is just a puppet for his leader? Stephane Dion doesn't know what's good for Thunder Bay, it's the MP's job to know what's best. If the MP isn't permitted to campaign for the good of his or her area, what good are they? Comuzzi doesn't plan to run for re-election come the next election. The residents of Thunder Bay should send a message to Ottawa and elect a Conservative MP in the next election.
