Something About Venus

From what I can gather, I think Venus's birthday should be about now. I've decided it should be December 1st. Happy first birthday, Veaner Beaner!

Something About a Killer Kiss

I was reading in the Toronto Sun today that a peanut butter allergic girl died after kissing her peanut butter eating boyfriend. This is definitely a case for Law and Order. Was it an accident? Was there motive? I wonder how many people are now contemplating an "accidental" peanut butter kiss with their allergic significant other. Read the story here.

Something About My Two Cents

It seems as if the Conservatives want to bring down the government once again, and this time they've got the backing of the other opposition parties. While I do consider my self to be conservative (actually, just a tad right of center), I really don't think we will see the government change hands. Sure the Liberal's must go, but I'm not sure if now is the time. I also don't think Stephen Harper is the man to bring down the Liberal's. The results of this election will most likelly mean the end of a career for one of these men. If Martin looses, he'll likely step down as Liberal leader. A Harper loss would be his second in a row, making his re-election as party leader doubtful. To me it seems as if the Opposition is too eager to bring down the governemnt. It almost seems childish. I think the Conservatives would have a much better chance with Peter McKay as party leader. Hopefully if Harper looses McKay will be able to take over the helm. Just think: 4 more years of Liberal rule. Man am I glad I'm in Korea!

Something About Breakfast

Despite the fact I seldom eat breakfast it is one of my favorite meals. My problem is that I really don't feel like cooking first thing in the morning, even if it's just poring milk on cereal. Korean mothers wake up early in the morning to cook breakfast for their family. It includes a beef soup, rice and, of course, kimchi. I came across this device the other day. I'm not sure if this is old news, but I think it's pretty cool. It's a toaster oven/frying pan/coffee maker combo. Amazing. It's available online for $44.98.

Something About Surprises

My High School class threw me a surprise birthday party on Wednesday night. I was truly surprised. To top it off, they gave me a half-gallon tub of Baskin Robbin's ice cream. I'm going to try and eat it for all three meals on my birthday. Wish me luck!

Something About Desperate Housewives

No, I'm talking about the television show. Deborah Halea, a 48-year-old from Albuquerque, New Mexico, is selling her house on ebay. She describes the house as a beautiful 3-bedroom, 3-bath, 1 1/2-storey house in established neighborhood, near parks, school, shopping. Recently renovated, oak flooring, 2 fireplaces. Asking $600,000 us. Sound expensive? Well, if you buy the house, you also get the girl. She says she will marry the highest bidder. Not only is she listed on ebay, she also has her own website. She gives the term "housewife" a whole new meaning.

Something About Television

I was sitting in front of my computer on Thursday night watching the newest episode of Law and Order: SVU. Imagine my surprise when, at the end of the episode, someone opens fire in the court room, killing 3 people including the judge and injuring 3 others. What the heck? Poor Lenny Briscoe must be rolling over in his grave. Earlier in the night I watched the double episode season premier to That 70's Show. In this episode Hyde marries a stripper, Kitty gets high and a new character (Charlie?) falls off the water tower to his death. What the heck? Seriously, this television season sucks!

I started watching How I Met Your Mother, the new comedy from NBC. You can tell they are desperate to regain the glory days of comedic supremacy. Sorry guys, but this show sucks. NBC went so far as to bring in Alyson Hanigan (American Pie Trilogy) and Neil Patrick Harris (Doogey Howser). The proven actors don't help the show at all. In fact, Doogie's character is the worst of them all. I really think NBC has a hit with My Name is Earl, which stars Jason Lee (Kevin Smith Movies). Of all the new television shows this season I think this will be the only one to come back next fall.

The only show which hasn't disappointed me so far this season is Lost. This show just keeps on getting better every week. The sad part about these crappy shows is that I'll probably keep watching them. After all, I don't have anything better to do at night.
